Ek is in jou wese ... in jou wese se ondergrond. En ek trap in jou spoor soos 'n goeie hond!” En wanneer ek so in die spieel kyk en ek myself sien, dan moet ek erken: Ek ken jou! Ja, ek ken jou wel van Adamskant! “Do you know me now and have you seen the mirror and do you know yourself?” Thus begins the poem of NP van Wyk Louw with the title: Ballade van die Bose/ Balad of Evil. “I am in you, twined, shooting roots in a dark ridge. I am in your being ... in your being's subsurface. And I am treading in your tracks like a good dog!” And when I look in the mirror and I see myself, I have to admit: I know you!
