Vreemde Openbaring/Strange revelation:Fierce loving God

Preek Romeine 5 - Woorde uit sy Woning

We regret that we are still unable to publish subtitles because of YouTube problems. We hope to provide subtitles again in future. Read our brief translation : God prepared His Gospel message. He then revealed it. God het sy Evangelieboodskap voorberei en op sy tyd en op sy manier, teen die grein, teen die loop van die wêreld, geopenbaar. Hy het die voorberei en toe geopenbaar. We marvel at this terrible ... but at the same time loving God? From Romans chapter one to this section of chapter 3 God revealed Himself as the Warrior, riding victoriously to battle, for truth, humility and supreme law, as we sing in Psalm 45. But in our Scripture today, He puts down the sword. He takes off the armor and the helmet and He reveals Himself as the loving Father, Who would give everything, everything to his people. These first few verses from Romans 3:21 are the most important words in any person's life. More important than 10,000 other talks and tracts about what to do to solve one's life questions. In the preceding part we got to know the true state of all people. Now we learn what God did to save us from this dreadful condition. And if you build your life upon these few verses, if you build your future on it, then you will stand firm, then you will remain steadfast through 100 crises. But if you ignore this, don't be surprised if everything is in turmoil, and that you live in uncertainty and fear from one crisis to the next. These words: But now the righteousness of God has been revealed right in the center of our lives. You will remember that we noticed at the beginning how important Romans 1 verses 16 and 17 were, how it summed up the whole letter ... It says: the gospel of Christ is a power of God A power of salvation for everyone who believes, for the righteousness of God is revealed in it (Romeine 1: 16-17). Now here in the third chapter, the apostle begins to explain whatever that means. Here it just says: it has been revealed. God revealed it. The origin of the revelation is strange to man, for his contact, his insight his relationship with the Creator of heaven and earth is so damaged that he has no insight into the spiritual truths. God and God alone is the Origin and the Donor of his righteousness. It comes from a source outside of man ... not the church, certainly not the world. What is revealed to us here, is not an educational myth, it is not a philosophy, not a way of life ... not a vague indication that God is not good ... Something has happened. A righteousness of God ... You know the theologians and Bible commentators can argue about the word: of Does that mean: A righteousness that deals with God or does it mean A righteousness that comes from God? It can mean both, but within the context of this letter we see that righteousness comes from God. We get to know it in a weird way, but that in itself is also strange. The origin and the content are of God. It comes from Him, from that strange place, there where in spotless white, the King of the world sits. Its contents are strange, because no human could ever conform to God's righteousness. He grants his justice ... Justice completely without the law, without my law enforcement, without my religion, without my good deeds, of whatever nature. How can one explain it? Everything very strange ... but still not so strange, writes the apostle Paul, because this incredible event was already predicted ... The law and the prophets foretold it. The whole Old Testament speaks of it. That's what the apostle means when he says the law and the prophets testify ... For example, let's just take Isaiah. In the unmistakable language of the Prophet, the LORD speaks in Isaiah 45 himself: I am the Lord, stand there and there is no other, besides Me there is no God (Isa 45: 5 ff) I am the LORD, and there is no other, forming the light and create darkness, work for salvation and create evil: I, Jehovah, am it who does all these things. The Source of this righteousness is already proclaimed in Old Testament. At God's command, righteousness flows from the heavens from top to bottom ... and it's perfect, perfect, You see, the Lord Jesus' cause was right with God. He just did His Father's will, nothing else. He just spoke the Father's Word, nothing else. He entered this world without sin and without sin He ascended again. The observance of the Father's law was His joy to Him. He and what He did, was the revelation of God's strange righteousness. Whenever He acted, so we read, everyone was surprised and glorified God and said: such a thing we have never seen (Markus 2:12) Source: Strange revelation/Vreemde openbaring Roman Series #16: Justified 2019 01 13 Romeine 3 :21 If you want to understand the essence of humanity's problem and God's answer to that, read the letter to the Romans. The letter to the Romans would later become the fundamental document of the Christian doctrine. Rev Gustav Opperman guides you on this journey. position: 543
